What a tester VNTT-PRO is used for?
Tester VNTT-PRO is used to diagnose a condition of electronic controllers (electronic valves, actuators, DC motors) of turbochargers with variable geometry VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbine). These actuators changes vanes in the same way as in turbochargers where these elements are controlled by a vacuum.
In addition to checking for correct operation of electronic controllers, VNTT-PRO tester can perform check of a variable geometry position sensors. Such sensors are used in turbines whose variable geometry is managed using the pneumatic valve. They provide information about the current opening vanes variable geometry.
The tester also has the ability to verify proper operation of the boost pressure control valves.
Tester VNTT-PRO can also be helpful in the process of adjusting the range of variable geometry.

VNTT PRO Tester supports actuators produced by manufacturers such as Hella, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Sonceboz, DENSO, MAHLE. They constitute a significant part of the actuators currently being used in the automotive industry.
1. HELLA Actuators
VNTT Actuator Tester v4 supports drivers that accept control signals of type PWM and CAN, as well as the drivers that do not have their own DC motor control. These are the actuators of the following numbers:

There are two types of these actuators (drivers). Most of the Hella actuators available on the market are so-called actuators “with electronics”. These are the drivers that have a separate system for controlling DC motors used to move the lever position. Cars fitted with these gears:

As mentioned above, there is another type of actuators made by Hella, the so-called actuators”without electronics.” These are the actuators which do not have control of the electric motor integrated with the controller. The control role in this case is played by the engine control unit. They are used in:
-Audi / VW 2.7 TDI and 3.0 TDI,
– Ford 2.4 BMW X3 2.0.

2. Actuators produced by SIEMENS.
The tester supports all controllers manufactured by Siemens without any exceptions. These drivers are used in:
– Audi / VW 2.7 TDI and 3.0 TDI,
– Mercedes,
– BMW.

3. Mitsubishi driver support.
The Tester supports all drivers manufactured by Mitsubishi. These drivers are used in BMW 320d, Ford 2.2 TDCi and vehicles with engine made by PSA – 2.2 HDI

4. Operation drivers Sonceboz
Tester supports drivers manufactured by the Swiss company Sonceboz. These drivers are used among others in LandRover and Mercedes cars.

Tester supports drivers manufactured by DENSO. These drivers are used among others in the Toyota 1.4 D-4D and 3.0 D-4D.

6. Support Drivers MAHLE
Tester supports drivers manufactured by MAHLE. These drivers are used mostly in VW, Skoda with 1.2 TSI engine.

How long and which car manufacturers are using controllers in turbochargers?
The process started in 2003. Turbochargers with actuators are widely used in car manufacturers such as Audi, VW, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Jeep Chrysler, Nissan, Citroen, Chevrolet and others.
What can I check the tester VNTT-PRO?
Tester VNTT-PRO allows you to check:
- traffic flow control lever,
- resistance movement of the lever,
- the range of motion of the lever,
- mechanical components and on electronics controller,
- DC motor controllers used in turbochargers to change the position of the lever,
- correct settings scope of variable geometry,
- the proper operation of the position sensor variable geometry,
- the proper operation of the controller’s internal temperature sensor (only some drivers Hella)
- vacuum regulator valve turbo boost
- For drivers made by Hella and Siemens, the tester also allows the identification of the driver or the brand of car it is used in.
According to the assurances of manufacturers of turbochargers, the controller is an integral part of the turbine and as such can not be repaired or exchanged, only the entire turbine. With the tester it is possible to determine, sometimes very prosaic cause of the malfunction and to attempt to repair.
Who is VNTT-PRO tester for?
Tester VNTT-PRO can be successfully used by the companies involved in the regeneration of turbochargers and in showrooms offering a wide range of repairs in order to diagnose the fault of the turbocharger.
Has the Tester original connectors for drivers?
The tester has connectors for original drivers from Hella, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi (BMW), Sonceboz and MAHLE.
For drivers DENSO and Mitsubishi (Ford / PSA), the connector allowing the driver to be plugged is a universal one.
What kind of power requires a tester?
Tester VNTT-PRO tolerate voltages within a range of 12 to 15V. The voltage source should have a minimum current efficiency of 4A.
Supplied with the tester stabilized power supply is designed to power the tester.
Is it possible to update online?
Yes. Simply plug the tester to the USB port of any PC or laptop that has access to the Internet and run the updater (CD included). Details of the update are provided in the device manual.
